THE URBAN Ride 2008

The second ever Urban Ride series took place from the 11th - 16th October  2008.  The Ride Freesport team travelled around the UK's premiere skiing venues organising a competition at each location focusing on Big Air and Rails.  This generated great interest from a youth audience and a massive amount of UK freestyle ski talent presented itself.  Up for grabs were 8 places in the London Ride 08 competition, the International event at the Metro Ski + Snowboard Show.

The winners of the Urban Ride 08 were the following UK talent: 

SNO!zone Castleford  -  Andy Collin 
Ski Rossendale  -  Josh Ingram + Rowan Cheshire 
Chill Factore  -  Peter Spate 
Tamworth Snowdome  -  Charlie Smith 
Norfolk Ski Club  -  Tom Coe 
SNO!zone Milton Keynes  -  Josh Birch

All these riders competed at the London Ride 08 and pushed their skiing careers further with the exposure and experience they gained.  Due to the success of the events, Ride Freesport will be expanding the series to include two new venues for 2009.  Big thanks goes to Snow + Rock for their support in funding this grass roots talent search competition and the UK's top venues for hosting us.  Go to www.theurbanride.com to see the photo gallery from each event.
